Aftercare & Grief Matters

Aftercare services are provided to our families to assist with the completion of CPP death benefit forms and to
review an Estate or Executors checklist. This service is included in the service options selected in the course of arrangements.

The death of someone we love is difficult and painful.  Grief is one of life’s most challenging experiences and we often need help to come to terms with it.  Grief is normal and – contrary to what some think – grief has no time limit.

Please do not hesitate to call if you need additional help or would like a referral to  “one on one” or group support.

To help families deal with their grief, Dermody’s offers an 8 week grief support program—“Grief Matters”. This program is free and open to anyone who is grieving.

Topics include:

• The Grief Experience
• What Is Grief?
• Understanding the Process of Grief
• Confronting the Reality: Grief Attacks, Guilt and Anger
• Adjusting to the New Reality
• Reorganization: Next Steps in the Process

Starting in September 2020 we will be offering an afternoon program on Tuesdays 1-2pm on Zoom.

Due to the nature of this meeting the number of participants is limited.

To register for this support group, or ask for a referral, contact Maureen Dermody at: maureen.dermody@dermodys.com or (905)962-0303
